The Hudson Valley men's soccer team was unable to capitalize on its Senior Day momentum, falling 4–0 to Finger Lakes Community College on Sunday afternoon at the Outdoor Athletic Complex. The loss drops the Vikings to 5–5 on the season.
Finger Lakes struck early and often, opening the scoring just four minutes into the match before adding two more quick goals in the 15th and 17th minutes to take a commanding 3–0 lead into halftime. Hudson Valley showed effort throughout the second half but struggled to break through the Lakers' defensive block. Finger Lakes added a fourth goal in the 63rd minute to put the match out of reach.
Despite the scoreline, the Vikings generated offensive opportunities, finishing with 20 total shots and six on target. Michael Robyck led the attack with three attempts, while Corbet Hallberg, Anthony Pezzulo and Camryn Curet each contributed shots on goal. Goalkeepers Arafh Ghani and Juan Rivas combined for nine saves in the effort.
Hudson Valley will look to regroup quickly as they continue their homestand on Tuesday, October 8, when they host Ulster at 4 p.m.
