Volleyball Make History, Capture First-Ever Region 3 Championship and Advance to NJCAA National Tournament

The Hudson Valley Community College women's volleyball team made history over the weekend, capturing the program's first-ever NJCAA Region 3 Championship and securing a spot in the NJCAA Division III National Tournament. The top-seeded Vikings continued their undefeated season with dominant wins over #6 Monroe Community College and #4 Erie Community College, improving to a perfect 25-0 on the year.

Hudson Valley opened tournament play on Saturday with a decisive semifinal victory over Monroe, sweeping the Tribunes 25-23, 25-17, 25-18. The Vikings controlled the tempo throughout, relying on strong serving, balanced offense, and consistent defensive execution to earn their spot in the title match.

In Sunday's championship, Hudson Valley faced #4 Erie Community College and delivered another statement performance, defeating the Kats 25-18, 25-23, 25-19 to claim the Region 3 crown. The win marked a milestone moment for the program, as the Vikings captured their first regional championship in school history and extended their unbeaten streak to 25 straight matches.

With the championship, the Vikings earn an automatic bid to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament, set for November 13–15, 2025, at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse Arena in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Hudson Valley will represent Region 3 as one of the top teams in the country and will look to continue its remarkable undefeated run as it competes for the program's first national title.
