The Hudson Valley Community College women's volleyball team continued its dominant start to the 2025 season with a pair of victories on the road Saturday, defeating Jefferson Community College 3-1 and sweeping Fulton-Montgomery Community College 3-0. With the two wins, the Vikings remain unbeaten and improve to 11-0 overall.
Hudson Valley opened the day against host Jefferson, taking control early with back-to-back set wins (25-15, 25-20) before the Cannoneers rallied to edge the Vikings in the third set. The Vikings responded with authority, closing out the match 25-16 in the fourth. Lillian Fros powered the offense with 13 kills on a .345 hitting percentage, while Brooke Poutre and Hayden LeFever added 11 and nine kills, respectively, to pace a balanced attack.
In the second match of the day, the Vikings overcame a tightly contested first set to sweep Fulton-Montgomery in straight sets (28-26, 25-19, 25-12). Hudson Valley relied on strong offensive depth, with Poutre, Fros, LeFever, and Jocelyn Caputo each contributing multiple kills to keep the Raiders on their heels. Madison LaCouture provided steady play across the court, helping the Vikings secure their 11th consecutive win.
Hudson Valley, ranked No. 1 in Region 3 and No. 10 nationally, will look to continue its undefeated run when it returns to action later this week. They head to Mohawk Valley on September 23rd and face off at 6pm.
