GAME ONE: HVCC 14 - ONONDAGA 1
The Vikings won big over Onondaga 14-6 on Tuesday in Syracuse, NY.
The Vikings got on the board in the top of the first inning after Reegan Mullen drew a walk, scoring one run, and Lily Brennan doubled, scoring one run. The Vikings scored five runs on two hits in the top of the third inning. Mullen drew a walk, scoring one run, Brianna Shutter drew a walk, scoring one run, Kayden Craft drew a walk, scoring one run, Angelise Montanez hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Izabelle Ratcliffe hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Moira Collins started in the circle for the Vikings. The hurler allowed five hits and one run over five innings, striking out seven and walking one. Shutter led the Vikings with three runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Grace Harris went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Vikings in hits. the Vikings had patience at the plate, piling up 12 walks for the game. Ratcliffe and Mullen led the team with two walks each. Montanez stole two bases. the Vikings stole three bases in the game.
The Vikings second game of the day was canceled after the first inning due to weather. They play again on Thursday, April 17th at Herkimer at 3pm and 5pm.
