Track & Field Sweeps Region 3 Championships with Dominant All-Around Performance

The Hudson Valley Community College track & field program delivered a statement performance at the NJCAA Region 3 Championships, capturing both the men's and women's team titles in commanding fashion at Proctor High School. The Vikings showcased their depth and versatility across all event areas, combining sprint dominance, distance strength, field event excellence, and relay success to secure the regional sweep. The women's team totaled 251 points to win the championship, while the men followed with 232 points to claim their title.
Women's Highlights
Hudson Valley controlled the meet from start to finish behind a series of first-place finishes and strong scoring depth. Inara Bradford led the way in the sprints, winning the 100 meters (12.25) and placing second in the 200 meters (25.19). Qimora Johnson captured the 200-meter title in 24.97 and added a runner-up finish in the 100 meters (12.50), while also contributing to multiple relay victories.
In the distance events, Ava Dwyer was a double champion, winning the 3000-meter steeplechase (14:44.42) and the 800 meters (2:48.39). Athena Seebald added a win in the 1500 meters (6:22.06) and a second-place finish in the steeplechase, while also contributing to a relay victory. Paulina Ostrander secured the 5000-meter title in 23:29.84, with teammates Rebecca Church (2nd), Talia Moore (3rd), and Moore again (4th in the 1500) adding key points.
The Vikings dominated the relays, sweeping all three events. The 4x800 relay team of Dwyer, Emily Wilson, Sanaiya Adams, and Seebald took first in 11:06.99. The 4x100 relay (Alana Dickson, Wilson, Johnson, Bradford) claimed victory in 51.15, and the 4x400 relay (Adams, Wilson, Dickson, Johnson) closed the meet with a win in 4:29.99.
Alana Dickson earned the 400-meter title (1:05.76) and ran on two winning relays, while Sanaiya Adams placed second in the 400 meters (1:06.95). Emily Wilson added a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles (1:22.83).
In the field events, Makayla Kudlack won the pole vault (2.80m), Noddy Udeh captured the long jump title (5.25m), and Meghan Cowles took first in the javelin (26.60m). The throwing group also added valuable depth scoring, led by Nadia Khan, Cali Buchholz, Zoe Evans, and Alivia Cochran across the discus, hammer, and shot put.
Men's Highlights
On the men's side, Hudson Valley matched the women's intensity with standout performances across the board.
Justice Affinito led the sprint group with victories in both the 100 meters (11.04) and 200 meters (22.35). He also anchored the winning 4x100 relay alongside Nicholas Rushford, Jair Oliva, and Darius Simmons, finishing in 43.82.
Rushford was dominant in the hurdles, winning both the 110-meter hurdles (15.76) and 400-meter hurdles (57.85), while also contributing to the 4x100 relay victory.
In the middle-distance and distance events, Alan Arnold was a double champion, winning the 1500 meters (4:27.36) and 5000 meters (16:27.09). The 4x800 relay team of Yaseen Osmani, Arnold, Michael Kleinman, and Parris Porter claimed first place in 9:11.64, with Kleinman also placing third in the 1500 meters.
Parris Porter captured the 400-meter title (51.76) and ran a key leg on both the 4x800 and 4x400 relay teams. The 4x400 relay team (Porter, Gavin Vautrin, Simmons, Oliva) secured the win in 3:39.14 to cap the meet.
In the field events, Makai Gordon was a double champion, winning both the high jump (1.93m) and long jump (6.48m). Dylan Izzo added a victory in the javelin (45.60m), while Hudson Valley throwers contributed additional scoring across multiple events.
With the Region 3 titles secured, Hudson Valley now turns its attention to the NJCAA National Championships, carrying momentum from one of the most dominant regional performances in program history.
