Vikings Tennis Sweeps Mohawk Valley 9-0 on Senior Day

The Hudson Valley Community College women's tennis team delivered a dominant performance on Senior Day, shutting out Mohawk Valley Community College 9-0 in a complete team victory at home.
The Vikings controlled play from the opening serve, sweeping all six singles matches in straight sets. At the top of the lineup, Bryn Fitzmaurice and GraceMary Baumann each turned in flawless 6-0, 6-0 victories. Alyssa Robbins followed with a strong 6-1, 6-1 win, while Juliana Gagliardi cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 decision. Sofia Petrushenko (6-2, 6-1) and Destiny Pipino (6-3, 6-2) rounded out the singles lineup with convincing wins to secure the early lead.
Hudson Valley carried that momentum into doubles play, completing the sweep with three more victories. Fitzmaurice and Gagliardi teamed up for an 8-1 win at first doubles, while Petrushenko and Robbins battled to an 8-6 victory at second doubles. Pipino and Baumann closed out the match with an 8-3 win at third doubles.
Hudson Valley will now prepare to host the Region 3 Championship against Mohawk Valley on Thursday, April 23 at 2:30 p.m., looking to carry its momentum into postseason play.
