Vikings Earn First Conference Win with 7-2 Victory Over Mohawk Valley

The Hudson Valley Community College women's tennis team captured its first conference win of the season in convincing fashion, defeating Mohawk Valley, 7-2.
The Vikings controlled the match from the outset, winning every contested court, with the only two losses coming via forfeits.
At #1 singles, Bryn Fitzmaurice delivered a dominant performance, defeating her opponent from the Netherlands, 6-2. Alyssa Robbins followed with a strong 6-2 win, using precise shot placement to control rallies and consistently paint the corners. Juliana Gagliardi showcased patience and strategy in a 6-1 victory, neutralizing a big-serving opponent with carefully placed returns. Sofia Petrushenko earned a 6-4 win, outlasting her opponent by extending points and forcing errors. Destiny Pipino capped singles play with a gritty effort, winning a third-set 10-point tiebreaker, 11-9, to secure her match.
In doubles action, the pairing of Bryn Fitzmaurice and Sofia Petrushenko dominated with an 8-0 shutout victory, while Alyssa Robbins and Juliana Gagliardi added an 8-3 win to complete the sweep in contested doubles play.
