The Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer team saw its postseason run come to an end Wednesday evening, falling 4-0 to No. 3 seed Jefferson Community College in the NJCAA Region 3 quarterfinals.
Jefferson found the net twice in each half, with Abby Bombard and Samantha Stokely scoring two goals apiece to lead the Cannoneers to victory. Despite the final score, the Vikings put together a strong offensive showing, recording 15 total shots — eight of them on goal — and maintaining pressure throughout much of the match.
Goalkeeper Olivia Kay anchored the Hudson Valley defense with eight saves in 90 minutes of play, holding steady against a potent Jefferson attack. Offensively, Alessia Salierno and Grace Hogan paced the Vikings with five shots each, combining for five of the team's eight shots on target.
With the loss, Hudson Valley concludes the 2025 season with a 7-5-1 overall record, marking another competitive year for the program under head coach Kurtis Smith. The Vikings' campaign featured several key Region 3 wins and showcased the team's depth, resilience, and commitment to growth throughout the fall.
