The Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision on the road to Mohawk Valley Community College on Monday afternoon. With the loss, the Vikings move to 6-4-1 on the season heading into their final regular season matchup on Wednesday, October 22, at home against SUNY Broome at 3 p.m.
Mohawk Valley's Ryan Colton proved to be the difference-maker, scoring all four goals for the Hawks, including a first-half hat trick. Colton opened the scoring in the 12th minute and added goals in the 14th, 26th, and 57th minutes to secure the win for Mohawk Valley.
The Vikings created offensive opportunities throughout the match, totaling 11 shots with four on goal. Kathryn Gross and Alessia Salierno each recorded two shots, while Emma Rodriguez and Ella Cipperly also added attempts on net.
Goalkeeper Olivia Kay made 14 saves on 18 shots faced, continuing to provide a steady presence in net for the Vikings.
Hudson Valley will look to bounce back and close out the regular season strong when they return home to face SUNY Broome on Wednesday at 3 p.m. on the Outdoor Athletic Complex.
