The Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer team delivered a commanding performance in front of the homecoming crowd on Thursday, earning an 11-0 victory over Tompkins Cortland.
The Vikings wasted no time setting the tone, scoring six goals in the first half before adding five more after the break. Sophomore Natalie Hastie led the early charge with two goals, while Lauren Dengler and Alessia Salierno each found the back of the net to push the lead out of reach before halftime.
Hudson Valley continued its relentless attack in the second half. Grace Hogan and Brooke Naylor both recorded two goals apiece, with additional tallies coming from Salierno, Jael Etman, and Anna Izzo. Salierno also contributed two assists in the effort, while Izzo and Naylor each added one.
Defensively, the Vikings were unyielding, holding Tompkins Cortland without a shot on goal. Goalkeeper Olivia Kay earned the clean sheet behind a backline that controlled possession and limited opportunities throughout the match.
