Vikings Shine at Regionals; Women Claim Title, Men Finish Runner-Up

The Hudson Valley Community College bowling teams delivered an impressive showing at the Regional Championships, with the women capturing the team title and the men earning a runner-up finish behind Erie Community College after a demanding day of eight traditional games and six baker games.
On the men's side, the Vikings put together a strong, consistent performance to secure second place overall. Aaron Mantello set the tone early with a 232–899 series over the opening four games, while Thomas Quinn added a 254–797 to keep HVCC in contention. In the second four-game block, Salvatore IaVarone led the charge with a 785, followed closely by Aidan Rutski's 782. Quinn and Mantello each contributed 763 in the final stretch to solidify the team's finish.
Quinn earned All-Region honors with a fourth-place finish, while Mantello capped off his standout day as the All-Region Runner-Up.
The women's team delivered a championship performance, finishing first overall ahead of Erie Community College. In doubles competition, the duo of Jennifer Doty and Laney Brown claimed first place with an impressive 1416 total over four games.
Doty continued her dominant day in singles play, capturing the regional title with a 262–929 series and an outstanding 207 average. Alexis Gaudette added a strong 635 series to contribute to the Vikings' team success.
HVCC was well represented on the All-Region Team, with Alyssa Gray finishing sixth, Gaudette placing fourth, Brown taking third, and Doty earning first overall honors to headline the championship effort.
With multiple individual titles and a team championship on the women's side, along with a runner-up finish for the men, the Vikings showcased depth, resilience, and championship-level performance on the regional stage.
