Women's Bowling Wins Brick City Classic; Doty Individual Champ
The Hudson Valley Community College women's bowling team won its second straight tournament over the weekend as they won the Brick City Classic on Sunday morning in Canandaigua, NY. The team accumulated 3,848 total pins, defeating fellow Region 3 members, Erie (2907) and Mohawk Valley (2158) by a large margin.
Hudson Valley's top bowler, Jennifer Doty won her second straight individual title as well. She averaged 171.2 over five games, totaling 856 pins. She achieved a high-game of 207 in the fourth game. Laney Brown placed second, also earning All-Tournament honors, as she knocked down 819 pins and averaged 163.8 pins per game. Her high game was a 198, which she achieved in the opening game of the day. Alexis Gaudette placed third overall and was named to the All-Tournament team. She scored a 780 over the five games and hit a high-game of 167 in the first game.
Lillie Garneau and Alyssa Gray rounds out the team scoring for HVCC as the duo scored 159.75 and 131, respectively.
The bowling team will return to action following the holiday break as they will compete in the Westchester Conference Match on Saturday, January 17th at Carmel Spins Bowl.
