The Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball team saw two sophomores recognized for their standout seasons as Sanaiya Adams and Gracemary Baumann were named to the Mountain Valley Conference All-Conference Third Team.
Baumann, who leads the Vikings in scoring this season, has been a consistent force offensively while also anchoring the team on the glass. She is averaging 10.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game overall, including 7.1 rebounds per contest in conference play. Her toughness in the paint and steady production have been key to Hudson Valley's success throughout the year.
Adams has been a major contributor on both ends of the floor, averaging 11.2 points per game while shooting 44 percent from the field. Logging over 31 minutes per game, she has provided consistent scoring and defensive intensity, adding 29 steals and playing a critical role in conference action.
The duo has helped guide the Vikings back to the postseason, as Hudson Valley advances to the NJCAA Region 3 Quarterfinals. The Vikings will travel to Jefferson on Friday, February 27, to face #1 Onondaga in quarterfinal action.
