Women's Basketball Falls to Mohawk Valley on the Road
The Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball team dropped its first road game of the season on Saturday afternoon, falling 65-43 to Mohawk Valley Community College. With the loss, the Vikings move to 1-1 overall on the year.
Hudson Valley battled early but struggled to keep pace as the Hawks built a 36-21 lead by halftime. Despite a stronger defensive effort in the second half, the Vikings were unable to close the gap as Mohawk Valley secured the win.
Lila Christensen led the Vikings with 12 points, while Morgan Hayden added nine and Piper O'Hare chipped in eight off the bench.
Hudson Valley returns home on Wednesday, November 12, to face Herkimer College at 5 p.m. in the McDonough Sports Complex. Prior to the game, the Vikings will be recognized with a trophy presentation for their third-place finish in the Ron Case Cup standings.
In addition, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be hosting a Canned Food Drive during Wednesday's contest. Fans are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item to donate in support of local families in need.
