Vikings Women Take Third, Men Ninth at Purchase Invitational

The Hudson Valley Community College cross country teams opened their 2025 season at the Purchase Invitational on Saturday, with the women's squad earning a third-place team finish in the 4K race and the men's team placing ninth overall in the 6K.
The Vikings women were led by Brianna Doria, who placed 31st individually. She was followed closely by Athena Seebald (36th) and Paulina Ostrander (45th) to solidify Hudson Valley's position in the top three. Alana Dickson (52nd) and Talia Moore (53rd) provided key scoring support, while Emily Wilson (79th) rounded out the group.
On the men's side, Alan Arnold turned in a standout performance, finishing fifth overall in a competitive 6K field. Michael Kleinman (36th) and Yaseen Osmani (78th) were the next Vikings to cross the line, with Alex Goodrich (107th) and Gavin Vautrin (138th) completing the team scoring. Philip Shopsis-Kent (79th) and Judens Rhau (142nd) also contributed strong efforts.
The Vikings return to action next weekend as they continue their fall schedule at the Finger Lakes Invitational on Saturday, 9/13.
