Track & Field Competes at SNHU Ed Daniels Classic

The Hudson Valley Community College track & field team delivered a well-rounded performance this past weekend at the SNHU Ed Daniels Classic, showcasing strength across sprints, distance, relays, and field events.
On the men's side, Tyler O'Donnell led the way in the field events with a strong showing in the pole vault, clearing 4.10 meters (13' 5¼") to place sixth, while also adding a seventh-place finish in the high jump at 1.83 meters (6' 0"). Teammate Makai Gordon turned in an impressive performance in the high jump as well, finishing fifth with a clearance of 1.88 meters (6' 2").
In the jumps, Vincent Marks posted a mark of 5.75 meters (18' 10½") in the long jump. On the women's side, Inara Bradford led the way with a 4.69-meter (15' 4¾") effort, followed by Noddy Udeh, who also competed in the triple jump and placed ninth with a leap of 9.92 meters (32' 6½").
Hudson Valley saw strong performances in the throwing events, highlighted by Dylan Izzo, who recorded a javelin throw of 44.00 meters (144' 4"). On the women's side, Meghan Cowles led the javelin group with a throw of 29.50 meters (96' 9"), while Cali Buchholz paced the shot put athletes with an 8.95-meter (29' 4½") mark.
On the track, the Vikings' relay teams delivered solid performances. The women's 4x100 relay team of Dickson, Wilson, Udeh, Johnson, and Bradford finished seventh with a time of 51.00, while the men's 4x100 relay team of Rushford, Oliva, Petrie, and Affinito also placed seventh, crossing the line in 44.18 seconds. The men's "B" relay squad added depth with a ninth-place finish.
Individually, Parris Porter led the men's middle-distance group with an eighth-place finish in the 800 meters (1:57.94), while Jair Oliva turned in a strong 400-meter performance, finishing in 50.87 seconds. In the hurdles, Nicholas Rushford placed sixth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 58.53.
For the women, Qimora Johnson highlighted the sprint events with a ninth-place finish in the 200 meters (26.30), while Sanaiya Adams competed in the 400 meters. In distance events, Ava Dwyer recorded a sixth-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase (13:09.15), and Paulina Ostrander led the 5,000-meter runners with a time of 22:59.25.
On the men's distance side, Alan Arnold delivered one of the team's top performances of the meet, placing eighth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:09.80. Kanyon Beeraka-Kolnacki also competed in the 3000-meter steeplechase, finishing in 12:43.52.
Hudson Valley will look to build on this momentum when they return to action on April 17 at the UAlbany Spring Classic.
