The Hudson Valley Community College men's soccer team (5-3) was defeated by No.5 Genesee 8-0 Sunday afternoon in Batavia, NY.
Genesee's defense shutdown Hudson Valley's high-powered offense as the Vikings were shutout for the first time since their 1-0 loss to Finger Lakes on opening night of the 2017 season. The loss gives the Vikings back-to-back defeats for the first time since last year when they lost three straight road games in October.
Benjamin Peay (Westerlo/Berne-Knox-Westerlo) (57:50), Kevin Granados (Glen Cove/Glen Cove) (37:52) and Michael Naclerio (Latham/Shaker) all saw time in goal for the Vikings.
Hudson Valley looks to rebound this Wednesday, Sept. 27 as they return home to face No.2 Herkimer College with a scheduled start time of 6 p.m.
