Vikings Open NJCAA National Championship in Eighth Place

The Hudson Valley Community College men's golf team opened play at the 2026 NJCAA National Championship on Tuesday at Chautauqua Golf Club, finishing the first round in eighth place among the national field.
The Vikings posted a team score of 315 (+27) through the opening 18 holes and remain within striking distance with three rounds left to play in the four-day championship.
Sophomore Stephen Jordan paced Hudson Valley on Day 1, carding a four-over-par 76 to sit tied for 15th overall heading into Wednesday's second round. Jordan recorded nine pars and birdied the par-3 12th hole to lead the Vikings' lineup.
Tommy Wall and Logan Gilbo each turned in rounds of 79 (+7) and are tied for 33rd place after the opening day. Wall recovered from a challenging front nine with a steady back nine highlighted by six pars, while Gilbo recorded a consistent round that featured pars on 10 holes.
Nick Walsh finished the day with an 81 (+9), placing him tied for 47th, while Will Jennings rounded out the Viking scoring lineup with an 89 (+17).
Hudson Valley will return to the course Wednesday for the second round of competition. Gilbo will be the first Viking to tee off at 11:36 a.m. from Chautauqua Golf Club.
