Vikings Golf Posts Strong Weekend Across Three Invitationals

The Hudson Valley Community College men's golf team turned in a competitive and consistent weekend across three tournaments, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Jefferson Invitational on May 1.
The Vikings opened the weekend with an impressive second-place team finish at the Jefferson Invitational, carding a combined score of 303. Leading the way was Stephen Jordan, who delivered a standout round of 71 to earn a second-place individual finish. Close behind, Nick Walsh placed third overall with a 72. Tommy Wall added a 79, while Will Jennings shot an 81. Ryan Walch (86), Logan Gilbo (88), and John Pember (88) rounded out the Vikings' lineup in a strong team showing.
Hudson Valley returned to action on May 2 at the Herkimer Invitational, finishing fourth overall with a team score of 331. Jordan once again paced the Vikings with a 79, followed by Wall (80) and Walsh (81). Walch posted a 91, while Gilbo (96) and Pember (106) completed the team scoring.
The weekend concluded on May 3 at the Mohawk Valley Invitational, where the Vikings placed fifth with a team score of 343. Jordan continued his consistent play with an 84, while Walsh followed with an 85. Jennings carded an 86, and Wall added an 88. Gilbo (91), Walch (94), and Pember (113) rounded out the results.
Across the three-day stretch, Stephen Jordan and Nick Walsh led the charge for Hudson Valley, consistently finishing near the top of the leaderboard and providing stability for the Vikings lineup.
The Vikings now turn their focus to postseason play, as they prepare to compete in the Region 3 Tournament next weekend, hosted by Jamestown at Chautauqua Golf Course.
