Vikings Sweep Mohawk Valley Conference Match, Claim First Place Overall

The Hudson Valley Community College Vikings delivered another dominant showing at the Mohawk Valley Conference Match on January 23, with both the men's and women's teams finishing first overall and posting undefeated conference records.

The Vikings men's team went a perfect 6-0 on the day, led by Aaron Mantello, who finished first overall with a total score of 1376. Aidan Rutski followed closely with 1369, while Salvatore IaVarone added 1330, highlighted by the first 300 game of his career. Thomas Quinn recorded a total of 1212, and Matt Sajise rounded out the scoring with 1163, as the Vikings secured the top spot overall.

On the women's side, the Vikings also dominated, finishing 4-0 in conference play and claiming first place overall. Jennifer Doty led the field with a meet-high 1436, earning first place individually. Alexis Gaudette followed with 1187, while Laney Brown totaled 1095. Lillie Garneau added 989, and Alyssa Gray completed the scoring with 930, as the Vikings women controlled the lanes throughout the match.

The Vikings will look to carry their momentum into their next competition when they travel to Herkimer for their next match on January 31 at 1 p.m.
