The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team had two standout performers recognized by the Mountain Valley Conference as sophomore guard Julius Reed and freshman guard Kemontae Thawe earned All-Conference honors for the 2025-26 season.
Thawe earned Mountain Valley Conference All-Conference Second Team recognition following an impressive freshman campaign. He averaged 16.0 points per game and led the team with 98 assists, showcasing his ability to both score and create opportunities for his teammates. Thawe shot 44.6 percent from the field and 37.3 percent from three-point range, providing efficiency and consistency in heavy minutes all season long.
Reed was named to the Mountain Valley Conference All-Conference Third Team after leading the Vikings in scoring this season. The sophomore averaged 18.8 points per game while totaling 470 points on the year. He also contributed 5.1 rebounds per contest and added 70 steals, consistently impacting the game on both ends of the floor. Reed's offensive production and competitive edge made him a focal point of the Vikings' attack throughout the season.
The pair have helped lead the Vikings into postseason play, as Hudson Valley advances to the NJCAA Region 3 Quarterfinals. The Vikings will travel to Genesee on Friday to face #1 North Country at 5:30 p.m.
