The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team put together an impressive weekend at home, picking up back-to-back victories over Jefferson Community College and Onondaga Community College to improve to 8–9 overall.
On Saturday, January 17, the Vikings delivered a dominant performance against Jefferson, cruising to a 100–73 win. Hudson Valley took control early, leading 45–35 at halftime before extending the margin with a strong second half. Julius Reed led the way with 29 points, while Jacob Baccaro added 23 points. Ian Fisher-Layton contributed 16 points, Marcus Steele scored 12, and Kemontae Thawe chipped in 11 as the Vikings reached the 100-point mark on their home floor.
Hudson Valley followed up with another strong effort on Sunday, January 18, edging Onondaga 78–75 in a hard-fought contest. After trailing 39–30 at halftime, the Vikings surged in the second half, outscoring Onondaga 48–36 to complete the comeback. Kemontae Thawe led all scorers with 28 points, while Julius Reed added 11. Ian Fisher-Layton and Marcus Steele each contributed 10 points, and William Robinson added six off the bench.
The Vikings return to action on Wednesday, January 21, when they host Fulton-Montgomery Community College for Community Day. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
