The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team (14-10) defeated North Country Community College (12-11), 73-72, on Saturday afternoon.
The Vikings held a nine-point lead going into the half and were able to avoid a late run by North Country to hold on for the win in the important divisional game. Brendan Archer (Schoharie/Sloansville) led the Vikings with 23 points, and Imre Megyeri (Troy/Troy) converted on five three-point field goals to finish with 15 points.
The men travel to Columbia-Greene on Wednesday for a game at 5 p.m.
