Oliva and Doty Earn February Athletes of the Month

The Hudson Valley Community College Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the recipients of the Vikings Student-Athlete of the Month award. The February 2025 honorees are Jair Oliva (Men's Track & Field) and Jennifer Doty (Women's Bowling).
Jair Oliva is a freshman for the men's track and field team. The Elmsford native is a sprinter who runs the 200 meter sprint. He placed 5th at the Middlebury Indoor Meet on 2/8 and is proving to be a threat in this upcoming track season. Oliva is a Physical Education major at Hudson Valley and is a standout on the track and in the classroom.
Jennifer Doty, a Nassau native, is a winning machine for the women's bowling program. Doty was named NJCAA Region 3 Athlete of the Week three times during her season and placed first in 7/8 regular season matches. Doty placed 2nd at the Region 3 Championship and 11th at the NJCAA National Championship. Piling on her long list of accomplishments, Doty adds the title of NJCAA Region 3 All Event Champion, NJCAA All Region Team, and All Conference First Team for her achievements this season. Doty is a freshman majoring in Individual Studies at Hudson Valley, she shows skill in the classroom and on the lanes.
The Vikings Student-Athlete of the Month award is presented nine times annually (September through May) to recognize student-athletes for their outstanding academic and athletic achievements.
