Fitzmaurice and Gordon Named April Athletes of the Month

Hudson Valley Community College Athletics is proud to announce Bryn Fitzmaurice (women's tennis) and Makai Gordon (men's track & field) as the April Athletes of the Month, recognizing their outstanding performances and contributions throughout the month.

A freshman from Greenville, N.Y., Bryn Fitzmaurice has been dominant at the top of the lineup for the Vikings women's tennis team. Competing at the No. 1 singles position, Fitzmaurice has gone undefeated this season, showcasing exceptional skill, focus, and consistency against top competition. Her standout play has helped lead the Vikings to a successful spring campaign and earned her a spot at the national tournament, where she will represent Hudson Valley on the biggest stage. Fitzmaurice, a Health Sciences major, continues to set the tone for the program both on and off the court.

On the men's side, sophomore jumper Makai Gordon has put together an impressive month in the high jump for the Vikings track & field team. A native of Albany, N.Y. (Colonie High School), Gordon has recorded multiple top-five finishes throughout April, consistently competing among the best in the region. His strong performances have earned him national qualifier status, highlighting his growth and impact as a key contributor for Hudson Valley. Gordon majors in Electrical Construction & Maintenance.

Both student-athletes have demonstrated excellence in competition while representing Hudson Valley with pride.
